Overview

  • Two titles are out for schools: “Swadeshi: Vocal for Local” for Classes 6–8 and “Swadeshi: For a Self‑Reliant India” for Classes 9–12.
  • Both modules open with excerpts from the prime minister’s Independence Day speech and connect freedom‑struggle Swadeshi to Make in India, Startup India, Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
  • The content introduces the India Semiconductor Mission and a ‘Swadeshi AI’ focus on developing homegrown systems to cut reliance on foreign tech and protect data sovereignty.
  • Students encounter grassroots cases and the One District One Product programme, which lists 1,200+ items from 750+ districts and promotes them on GeM, ONDC and overseas ODOP displays.
  • NCERT says these are short, supplementary resources for projects and discussions, as ministries advance aligned steps including a student Buildathon and a shift to Zoho’s office suite.
