NCC Opens 12-Day Thal Sainik Camp in Delhi for 1,546 Cadets

The programme draws Army Wing participants from 17 directorates nationwide.

Overview

  • Additional Director General (A) Air Vice Marshal P.V.S. Narayana inaugurated the camp at Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment.
  • Cadets will compete in obstacle training, map reading and other institutional events that test physical endurance, mental acuity and teamwork.
  • A Defence Ministry statement says the camp provides exposure to key elements of Army training with an emphasis on discipline, leadership and national integration.
  • The event is a national-level programme exclusively for NCC Army Wing cadets with a focus on comprehensive character development.
  • The camp aligns with the NCC’s wider youth-development role, which recently included disaster-management drills under the Yuva Aapda Mitra scheme.
