Overview
- A joint NCB–RPF operation at Visakhapatnam’s Duvvada railway station intercepted the group and recovered 4 kg of hashish oil.
- Those held include two intended receivers from Kerala’s Thrissur district, a supplier from Srikakulam, and two paid carriers, including a woman.
- All five had traveled by bus from Paderu to Duvvada before the interception at the station.
- Following interrogation, the suspects were booked under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act and the seized contraband remains in custody.
- Preliminary checks point to earlier NDPS-related involvement by the supplier and receivers, and investigators are working to identify additional network members.
