- The bust was initiated after intelligence from a smaller seizure of 200 grams of cocaine in January 2025, leading investigators to a hideout in Navi Mumbai.
- Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the operation as a significant step toward achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a drug-free India.
