Overview
- The Narcotics Control Bureau carried out a covert intelligence operation on Friday, October 16, that dismantled two clandestine laboratories operating from rented premises in Jahanabad Kadalpur, Greater Noida, and placed two suspects in custody for interrogation.
- Searches recovered 379.74 kg of amphetamine-containing material in crystalline, semi-crystalline and liquid forms, 10 kg of pseudoephedrine and extensive chemical-processing equipment such as heating mantles, reaction vessels and filtration systems.
- The agency said the crystalline and semi-crystalline material could yield about 56 kg of finished crystalline amphetamine with an indicative illicit-market value near ₹45 crore, and noted the seized chemicals are common methamphetamine precursors.
- The arrested were identified as Destiny Abraham Dumbiri, who claimed to be Nigerian but has immigration records under the name Francis Kalokoh, and Lallawmzuali alias Olivia Lalchawimawii, who was previously arrested in a DRI heroin case and is currently on bail.
- Investigations are ongoing to trace wider supply chains and possible transnational links, authorities have urged landlords and residents to report suspicious chemical storage, and the bust follows a similar Greater Noida lab seizure in October 2024 that raised cartel concerns.
