NBCC and NFDC Sign MoU to Redevelop Delhi’s SiSiri Fort Auditorium into Cultural District

NBCC will oversee the two-year renovation under a deposit work model funded by NFDC.

Overview

  • The memorandum of understanding signed on July 2 assigns NBCC Ltd as the project management consultant for the Siri Fort redevelopment.
  • A Joint Empowered Committee chaired by an NFDC officer will monitor design approvals, regulatory clearances and construction milestones.
  • The complex will expand to over 20,000 square metres with a maximum height of 26 metres and adhere to LEED, IGBC and GRIHA green building standards.
  • Specialized zones for performance, film exhibitions, conventions, visual arts, culinary experiences, retail and immersive heritage displays are planned.
  • NFDC will fund actual construction costs plus PMC fees under a deposit work model with NBCC targeting a two-year build period after approvals.
