NBC Unveils On-Air Plan for Super Bowl, Winter Olympics and NBA All-Star Weekend
NBC maps a cross-sport talent shuffle to juggle overlapping broadcasts across two continents.
Overview
- Mike Tirico will call Super Bowl 60 on Feb. 8, then host Olympic primetime that night from Levi’s Stadium before flying to Italy to take over on Feb. 10.
- Tirico will miss the Olympic Opening Ceremony on Feb. 6 and the first night of competition on Feb. 7 while preparing for the Super Bowl.
- Maria Taylor will lead the Super Bowl pregame, host Olympic primetime on Feb. 7, then shift to late-night Olympic hosting from Milan starting Feb. 10.
- Noah Eagle will handle All-Star Saturday and the Feb. 15 NBA All-Star Game, while Ahmed Fareed will anchor All-Star coverage Feb. 13–15 and host daytime Olympics on Feb. 7.
- NBC will debut Sunday Night Basketball and Basketball Night in America on Feb. 1 with Tirico and Taylor before passing NBA duties to Eagle and Fareed, as the network brands the month “Legendary February.”
