- The league sorted all 30 teams into six five-team groups based on 2024-25 records to launch the tournament’s third in-season edition.
- East Group B pairs Orlando with Boston, Detroit, Brooklyn and Philadelphia, while East Group C features defending champion Milwaukee alongside New York, Chicago, Miami and Charlotte.
- Group play runs across four designated Cup Nights from October 31 through November 28, with each club hosting two games and traveling for two.
- Six group winners and one wild card from each conference will advance to single-elimination quarterfinals on December 9–10 in team markets.
