- League officials announced the change at the NBA Board of Governors meeting on Sept. 10, 2025.
- Beginning in 2026-27, Emirates NBA Cup semifinals will be hosted by the higher-seeded teams in each conference.
- The championship will remain a neutral-site game, with the league not yet naming a long-term host city.
- The 2025-26 semifinals and final will still be played at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 13 and Dec. 16.
- Since the tournament’s 2023-24 debut, both semifinals and finals have been staged in Las Vegas, and examples from 2024-25 indicate Milwaukee and Oklahoma City would have hosted under the new format.
