NBA Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero Commits to Play for Team USA at FIBA World Cup

Banchero, the recent NBA first overall draft pick, will join Team USA to play in the FIBA World Cup tournament in August 2023.
Banchero was expected to play for Team Italy but has committed to Team USA instead.
He will join other young NBA stars like Anthony Edwards, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Brandon Ingram on a roster aiming to rebound from a disappointing 2019 finish.
The FIBA World Cup will be held across the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia from August 25 to September 10, 2023.
Team USA has won five gold medals and 12 total medals in the FIBA World Cup but hopes to return to the top of the podium in 2023.
