NBA Reclaims NBA TV and App, Launches 24/7 Global Basketball Hub

Fans now get a single, always-on home for NBA, WNBA, G League plus global basketball across the app and channel.

Overview

  • The league has assumed full operational control of NBA TV and its streaming app, repositioning both as a unified platform with nonstop live games, studio shows and behind-the-scenes programming.
  • The new weeknight flagship, The Association, debuts Oct. 15 from Los Angeles with contributors including MJ Acosta-Ruiz, David Fizdale, Rudy Gay, Chris Haynes and John Wall, and it will stream free in the NBA app.
  • NBA TV will carry a 60-game regular-season package beginning Oct. 25 with the Thunder at the Hawks, with additional slates such as tripleheaders and a New Year’s Eve lineup announced for the season.
  • NBA TV remains in roughly 33 million cable homes and is available direct for $9 per month or $75 per year, with access also included in NBA League Pass.
  • Under a settlement, TNT Sports stops producing NBA TV but gains expanded global highlight and content rights plus certain international game rights, while the NBA takes over League Pass operations and sells it through Prime Video Channels.
