NBA Overhauls 2026 All-Star Game With Three-Team USA vs. World Format

Commissioner authority will ensure a 16–8 roster composition under revised All-Star voting.

Overview

  • The event takes place on February 15, 2026 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, with a 23:00 CET start aligned to follow Winter Olympics coverage on the same U.S. network.
  • Three squads of eight — Team USA Red, Team USA Blue, and Team World — will play 12-minute mini-games in a round-robin, then a final between the top two records.
  • If all three teams finish 1–1, point differential will determine the finalists.
  • Twenty-four All-Stars will be selected without position designations, with starters chosen by fans (50%), current players (25%) and a media panel (25%), and seven reserves per conference picked by coaches.
  • Adam Silver may add players to reach a 16 U.S. and 8 international split, with the process for assigning U.S. players to the two USA teams to be announced.
