Butler scored 16 points with eight rebounds and six assists in 31 minutes but declined to take questions in the locker room.
Fine handed down by Joe Dumars, executive vice president of basketball operations at the NBA.
Butler is the second player to be fined this postseason for skirting his media duties, after the Grizzlies' Dillon Brooks.
