NBA Confirms U.S. vs. World, Three-Team Format for 2026 All-Star Game

Timed to NBC’s Olympic coverage, the Feb. 15 event at Intuit Dome adopts positionless voting with a nationality minimum enforced by the commissioner.

Overview

  • Two U.S. teams and one World team will play a round-robin of four 12-minute games, with the two best records advancing to a final; point differential breaks a three-way tie at 1-1.
  • The showcase is set for Sunday, Feb. 15, 5 p.m. ET at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood and will air on NBC and stream on Peacock.
  • Twenty-four All-Stars will be selected, with a minimum of eight players per team and the possibility of larger rosters if additions are required.
  • Starters will be chosen on positionless ballots weighted 50% fan votes, 25% player votes, and 25% media votes, while head coaches select 14 reserves.
  • If voting does not yield at least 16 U.S. players and eight international players, Adam Silver will add selections; how U.S. players are split between the two teams, coach selection, and award-money details remain to be decided.
