Overview

  • The NBA has slated six regular-season games in Europe through the 2027–28 campaign, beginning with Orlando Magic vs. Memphis Grizzlies matchups in Berlin on Jan. 15, 2026, and London on Jan. 18, 2026.
  • Commissioner Adam Silver and Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum met in London this week with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss backing for a standalone European league.
  • The duo also held talks with investors including KKR, CVC, Redbird Capital Partners, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism and representatives from Galatasaray, as well as U.S. Ambassador Warren Stephens.
  • Silver has said any European league would be in partnership with FIBA but remains in the exploratory stage with no formal agreements yet.
  • Projections suggest the new league could tap into up to €3 billion in annual revenue and bolster European basketball infrastructure, building on the NBA’s prior international ventures.
