The accident occurred outside Criticare hospital in Mumbai when the driver accidentally accelerated, causing the car to hit a wall.
Khan was dragged and crushed against a boundary wall, while his wife sustained minor injuries.
The driver, Abul Mohammad Saif Ansari, has been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for rash driving and negligence.
Nawab Malik announced the postponement of his scheduled activities and requested prayers for Khan.
