Navy SEALs Presumed Dead in Somali Raid on Iranian Weapons Ship
The SEALs, identified as Christopher J. Chambers and Nathan Gage Ingram, went missing during a mission to intercept a ship carrying Iranian weapons bound for Yemen.
- Two Navy SEALs, identified as Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers and Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram, are presumed dead after going missing during a raid off the coast of Somalia.
- The SEALs were attempting to board a ship in rough waters when one fell off the boarding ladder and the other jumped in to attempt a rescue. Both were quickly lost in the waves.
- The ship they were boarding was found to be carrying Iranian weapons bound for Houthi fighters in Yemen.
- A total of 14 crew members were removed from the ship, which was then sunk by U.S. Navy forces after being deemed unsafe.
- The incident remains under investigation.
