Overview
- Naval forces carried out coordinated raids on Thursday, May 28, dismantling two clandestine methamphetamine laboratories in the rural Culiacán communities of Las Juntas and Corralejo.
- Authorities seized a combined total of 2,350 kilograms of presumed methamphetamine along with about 13,100 liters of liquid precursors and 2,175 kilograms of solid chemical precursors.
- Investigators inactivated chemicals, equipment and facilities on site to prevent reuse and to reduce health and environmental hazards, then documented and packaged items as evidence.
- The operation was led by the Secretaría de Marina with participation from the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana and the Fiscalía General de la República, which has taken custody of the materials and will continue criminal diligences.
- Officials estimated the seizure trimmed organized-crime revenue by roughly 214.97 million pesos and removed key production infrastructure from Sinaloa, a region long used to hide dispersed meth labs.
