  • USS Pierre (LCS 38) was commissioned on November 15, 2025, in Panama City, Florida, as the 19th and last Independence-variant LCS.
  • Built by Austal USA in Alabama, the ship will be home-ported in San Diego and is the second U.S. Navy vessel to carry the Pierre name.
  • The Independence design uses a lightweight aluminum trimaran with a shallow draft under 14 feet, a large flight deck, and an expansive internal mission bay.
