Overview

• Thursday’s kickoff features a Parade of Ships on the Delaware River from 10:15 to 10:40 a.m., with Navy vessels USS Arlington, USS Lassen, USS Billings and USS Cooperstown joined by Coast Guard cutters and Naval Academy craft.
• Visiting ships will moor at Penn’s Landing, the Navy Yard’s Pier 4, Gloucester Marine Terminal and near the Battleship New Jersey, with public tours scheduled Oct. 10–14 (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) and limited hours Oct. 15 (10 a.m.–1 p.m.).
• A terrestrial Navy and Marine Corps parade steps off Monday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. from JFK Boulevard and 20th Street to Independence Mall, accompanied by a Blue Angels flyover and extensive Center City street closures and no‑parking zones.
• SEPTA says 18 bus routes will be detoured Monday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., and city officials have published detailed closure and parking maps for events spanning Friday through Monday.
• Officials expect more than 1,800 service members and roughly 300,000 visitors; enhanced police and EMS coverage, a prohibition on unauthorized drones and the READYPhila text alert sign‑up are in place, with public watch parties set at sites including Mustin Field, Fort Mifflin, Fort Mercer, Subaru Park and New Castle Battery Park.
