Navilli Family Completes Acquisition of Costumbres Argentinas Bakery Chain

The founders will lease their Don Torcuato plant to Molinos Florencia following their exit from bakery operations to focus on real estate ventures.

Overview

  • Molinos Florencia, a Navilli-controlled entity separate from Molinos Cañuelas, executed the purchase on July 17.
  • The 14,000 m2 Don Torcuato ultra-frozen facility will produce both Costumbres and Almar products under a leaseback arrangement.
  • Costumbres Argentinas spans nearly 100 low-cost outlets across Argentina with planned franchise entries into Chile and Uruguay.
  • The Navilli group intends to leverage Molinos Cañuelas’ milling capacity, logistics centers and distribution network to integrate and scale the bakery chain.
  • Completion of Molinos Cañuelas’ US$1.3 billion debt restructuring has cleared the path for Molinos Florencia to expand beyond flour production.
