• Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Dahane confirmed the arrest of Praful Salunkhe, driver and bodyguard linked to Dilip Khedkar, in the abduction case.
• The incident began on September 13 on the Mulund–Airoli Road when a concrete mixer truck driven by 22-year-old Prahlad Kumar brushed a Land Cruiser, leading to a confrontation.
• Investigators say Kumar was forced into an SUV and taken to the Khedkar bungalow in Pune before being traced and rescued through technical analysis.
• Pune police registered a case against Manorama Khedkar for allegedly obstructing officers at the bungalow, and Rabale police filed a kidnapping FIR under BNS section 137(2).
• Police say Dilip Khedkar remains absconding, as parallel probes continue into Puja Khedkar’s contested UPSC credentials, which she has denied misrepresenting.
