Navi Mumbai International Airport Starts Domestic Flights Thursday With 30 Movements

Authorities now focus on fare parity approvals, with international services targeted by March.

Overview

  • Commercial operations begin December 25 with 30 scheduled arrivals and departures, featuring IndiGo, Akasa Air, Air India Express and Star Air, with IndiGo 6E 460 from Bengaluru as the first arrival at 8 am and 6E 882 to Hyderabad as the first departure at 8:40 am.
  • CIDCO says international passenger flights and international cargo operations are expected to commence by the end of March 2026.
  • Cargo handling starts alongside passenger services, with current capacity at 0.8 million tonnes a year and Terminal 1 designed for about 10 million passengers annually in the first phase.
  • A proposal to keep airfares in line with Mumbai’s existing airport has received a central government no‑objection and now awaits state consent before Airports Economic Regulatory Authority review.
  • CIDCO has tendered a feasibility study for a potential third runway that could add roughly 45 million passengers per year, and access build‑out continues via the MTHL link, a new Chirle approach road and the under‑construction Ulwe Coastal Road.
