Navi Mumbai Airport Sets Dec. 25 Commercial Launch, IndiGo to Operate First Flights

A phased opening allows systems to be proven in service ahead of a February shift to 24/7 operations.

Overview

  • Operations will run from 8am to 8pm for the first month with 23 scheduled daily departures and a cap of up to 10 aircraft movements per hour.
  • IndiGo flight 6E460 from Bengaluru will be the inaugural arrival at 8:00am, followed by IndiGo 6E882 to Hyderabad departing at 8:40am on launch day.
  • IndiGo, Air India Express and Akasa Air will start services connecting 16 domestic destinations as airlines gradually scale their schedules.
  • Airport-side facilities and mandatory infrastructure are reported ready, while local agencies finalize approach-road lighting and last‑mile connectivity options.
  • The CISF was inducted on October 29 and ORAT trials with airlines and ground partners are underway to validate security, passenger processing and airside operations.
