Overview
- Day-one operations feature 15 arrivals and 15 departures, with IndiGo flight 6E460 from Bengaluru arriving at 8:00 am and IndiGo 6E882 to Hyderabad departing at 8:40 am.
- IndiGo, Akasa Air, Air India Express and Star Air start domestic services to an initial network that expands to 24 scheduled daily departures to 13 destinations, with 24x7 operations planned from February 2026.
- The first phase is designed for about 20 million passengers annually, cargo handling starts alongside passenger services, and CIDCO cites cargo capacity scaling from 0.8 to 3.2 million metric tonnes across phases.
- CIDCO says international passenger and cargo flights are expected by the end of March, and an airfare-parity proposal has central clearance and awaits state consent before AERA review; the naming proposal remains with the Centre.
- Access relies on the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, suburban rail and road links including a new Chirle approach road, with the Ulwe Coastal Road due by June and no direct metro or express rail at launch.
