Navi Mumbai Airport Nears Launch After Successful Flight Test

The first commercial flight landed at Navi Mumbai International Airport, with operations set to begin in mid-2025.

An IndiGo A320 aircraft successfully landed at Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) during a validation test, marking a key milestone for the project.
The airport is scheduled to be inaugurated on April 17, 2025, with domestic operations starting in May and international flights expected by July.
NMIA's first terminal will initially handle 20 million passengers annually, with future expansions increasing capacity to 90 million passengers per year.
The airport aims to alleviate congestion at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and boost regional connectivity and development.
The project includes state-of-the-art facilities, with metro connectivity planned to link NMIA to Mumbai, located approximately 35 kilometers away.
