Naveen Patnaik Extends Rath Yatra Greetings as He Recovers From Spine Surgery

He is due to be discharged by Monday to begin regular physiotherapy following visits from senior BJD women leaders.

Overview

Patnaik underwent a four-hour cervical spine surgery on June 22 at a Mumbai hospital performed by Dr S Rajasekaran of Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore.
The procedure addressed persistent neck pain and limited mobility and was overseen by his personal physician, Dr Ramakanta Panda.
From his hospital bed, the former Odisha chief minister released a video message wishing the state a happy Rath Yatra and chanting “Jai Jagannath.”
Congress president Mallikaarjun Kharge, Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin and MP Shashi Tharoor publicly sent him messages of support and speedy recovery.
His elder brother, Prem Patnaik, has remained by his side throughout his treatment.
