Naval Group Denies Hack Claims as Full Data Leak Emerges

Naval Group has filed a complaint with the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office to pursue those behind the alleged intrusion.

Overview

  • Hacker ‘Neferpitou’ claimed to have acquired about 1 TB of Naval Group data and released a 13 GB proof sample with a 72-hour ultimatum on July 23.
  • A second data release on July 25 included additional combat management system components, binaries, logs, screenshots and restricted documents.
  • On July 26 the hacker posted what was presented as the full dataset on a dark-web forum.
  • Naval Group’s Computer Emergency Response Team, supported by French government agencies, reported no evidence of IT-system intrusion or operational disruption.
  • The company has filed a complaint with the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office and is conducting technical authenticity checks on the leaked files.
