Overview
- Customers who received a posted cheque must cash or deposit it by 1 January 2026 or forfeit the payment.
- Nationwide says the one-off Big Nationwide Thank You reached about 12 million members at a cost reported as over £600 million.
- Most eligible members were paid automatically by direct deposit from 9 April, with remaining recipients sent cheques from 14 May.
- Eligibility was based on being a member on 30 September 2024 plus simple activity, balance or mortgage criteria, with certain switchers qualifying automatically.
- Members who believe they qualified but have not received the £50 are advised to check their status through Nationwide’s official channels.
