Nationwide Road Checks Find Nearly 1,000 Alcohol-Positive Drivers in First Half of January

Authorities say the intensified holiday travel enforcement will continue through the season.

Overview

  • ANSV reported 231,962 vehicles inspected in 2,913 coordinated operations across 39 strategic points from January 1–15.
  • Officials recorded 966 alcohol-positive drivers and issued 5,085 infraction reports for violations of traffic rules.
  • Breath tests included extreme readings, with more than 3 g/l in Güemes (Salta) and other cases at 2.84, 2.71, 2.56, and 2.48 g/l in several provinces.
  • Beyond alcohol, inspectors cited 838 cases for missing RTO/VTV, 586 for lacking required documentation, 586 for not using seatbelts, 372 for absent or altered plates, and 30 for misuse of shoulders.
  • CNRT checked 46,731 trucks and buses, issued 1,019 citations, and retained 116 vehicles, including 87 trucks and 29 buses.
