Overview
- The Oct. 18 day of action expands on June’s inaugural No Kings mobilization, when organizers estimated more than five million participants across roughly 2,100 locations.
- More than 2,500 events are scheduled in all 50 states, with anchor gatherings announced for Washington, D.C., New York, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago and other cities, plus some international solidarity rallies.
- Indivisible leads a coalition that includes the ACLU, Public Citizen, MoveOn, 50501, the American Federation of Teachers, SEIU, National Nurses United, the Human Rights Campaign and other partners.
- Republican leaders, including Speaker Mike Johnson and Cabinet officials, have branded the demonstrations a "hate America" rally and alleged Democrats are delaying a shutdown deal because of them, claims organizers dispute.
- The protests take place as National Guard deployments and intensified ICE activity set a tense backdrop, with organizers reiterating nonviolence and local safety and de‑escalation requirements for all events.
