  • This year’s National Statistics Day was observed on June 29 with MoSPI-led lectures and seminars under the theme “75 Years of National Sample Survey.”

  • ISI Kolkata marked Mahalanobis’s 132nd birth anniversary by garlanding his bust and planting a sapling as part of its internal commemorations.

  • Celebrations paid tribute to Professor Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis’s legacy in founding the ISI in 1931 and launching the NSS in 1950 to underpin modern data-driven governance.
