  • The 'Worth A Trip' series was created by tapping into the knowledge of National Geographic’s global team of editors, photographers, videographers, and other contributors.
  • Of the worldwide picks, 11 selections are found in the U.S., including Heart Song Lodge in Tennessee, Hacienda at Armendaris in New Mexico, Under Canvas North Yellowstone in Montana, and Rosewood Kona Village in Hawaii.
  • Also featured are cultural gems like the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C., and the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, wellness spots like Kosa Spa in Wisconsin and QC NY Spa in New York City, and restaurants like Okta in Oregon, Carriqui in Texas, and Market 57 in New York City.
  • The list was released to coincide with National Vacation Day, with the aim of inspiring readers to explore the world and make use of their vacation days.
