Overview

• Project Domani will create a new wing on the St Vincent House site beside Trafalgar Square, adding gallery and public space between Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square.
• The Julia Rausing Trust and Crankstart have each pledged £150 million, reported as record single donations to a museum or gallery, with a further £75 million from the National Gallery Trust and other donors.
• The gallery will start acquiring 20th- and 21st-century paintings and will collaborate with Tate on loans as well as curatorial and conservation expertise.
