Overview
- The National Gallery of Art will welcome visitors on Friday with normal hours and on-site cafes back in service.
- The Smithsonian will reopen the National Museum of American History, the National Air and Space Museum, and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center on Friday.
- All other Smithsonian museums, research centers, and the National Zoo will return on a rolling basis beginning Monday without a published detailed schedule.
- The National Gallery will debut The Stars We Do Not See: Australian Indigenous Art on Saturday after a shutdown delay, featuring nearly 200 works in partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria.
- The reopening follows the end of the 43-day government shutdown after a new spending package cleared the House and was signed into law.
