National Fitness Day 2025 Opens Doors With Free Classes and Local Deals Today

The UKActive campaign, themed “Powered by you,” urges first steps into activity to boost physical and mental health.

Overview

  • Gyms and leisure centres nationwide are taking part today, with UKActive coordinating what is billed as the country’s biggest celebration of physical activity.
  • In Enfield, the Albany, Southgate and Southbury centres are offering free sessions including Zumba, swimming and weight‑lifting workshops.
  • Barrow Park Leisure Centre is running a National Fitness Open Day with complimentary gym use, free group classes, a free general swim from 4–5pm, 50% off a three‑month membership, café discounts and goody bags.
  • Cumbria sites from Better and PureGym are opening access, staging taster sessions and trainer meet‑and‑greets, with PureGym adding new STEP, STRIKE and PUMP classes in Kendal and Whitehaven.
  • Organisers highlight the public‑health aim given that roughly a quarter of England is classed as inactive, and Barrow Park notes more than 1,000 visitors attended its event last year.
