National Fish & Chip Awards Names 20 Semi-Finalists for 2026 Takeaway of the Year

  • Four Yorkshire shops made the cut: Mister C’s in Selby, Shaws Fish and Chips in Dodworth, The Fish Bank in Sherburn-in-Elmet and The Scrap Box in York.
  • Harrison’s Fish & Chips in Oxford was selected, with owner Ryan Harrison saying, to his knowledge, it is the first Oxfordshire shop to reach this stage.
  • Harrison noted the shop responded to cod quota reductions by adding more than ten alternative fish species to its menu.
  • Essex’s The Fish Inn in Clacton is among the semi-finalists, and NFFF president Andrew Crook praised the process as highly rigorous, saying there is “nowhere to hide” for entrants.
