Natalie Dormer Refuses to Promote 'The Lady,' Donates Pay After Ferguson–Epstein Email Leak

Her stand follows publication of a 2011 email praising Jeffrey Epstein that has led charities to cut ties with the duchess.

Overview

  • Dormer said she will skip publicity for the ITV/BritBox series and has donated her entire salary to NAPAC and Barnardo’s Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse.
  • Her decision followed tabloids publishing a 2011 message in which Sarah Ferguson apologized to Epstein and called him a "steadfast, generous and supreme friend."
  • Charities including Teenage Cancer Trust, the Children’s Literacy Charity and the British Heart Foundation announced they have dropped Ferguson as patron or ambassador.
  • A spokesperson for Ferguson said the email was sent under advice to placate Epstein during legal threats and reiterated that she regrets any association with him.
  • The Lady, produced by Left Bank Pictures, is a four-part drama about former royal dresser Jane Andrews that filmed earlier this year and is expected to release in late 2025 or early 2026.
