In the series, Grace confronts her adoptive father, Michael Barnett, and presents medical records proving she was a child when adopted.
Grace accuses her adoptive mother, Kristine Barnett, of abusive behavior, including pepper-spraying her after failing a physics exam at age 7.
A DNA test conducted in the series reveals that Grace is close to 22 years old, supporting her claims against the Barnetts who had her age legally changed from 8 to 22.
Grace has been living with another Indiana couple, Cynthia and Antwon Mans, since 2013, after the Barnetts moved her into an apartment and left for Canada.
