NASCAR Unveils Naval Base Coronado Street Course, Sets June 19–21, 2026 San Diego Weekend

The 16-turn, 3.4-mile layout will stage the first NASCAR event on a U.S. naval base, with the Ellyson start/finish plus named signature corners.

Overview

  • NASCAR released renderings of a 16-turn, 3.4-mile circuit mapped within Naval Base Coronado that will be the longest track on the 2026 calendar.
  • Signature features include Turn 5 “Carrier Corner” routed between two docked aircraft carriers, the “Coronado Chicane” at Turns 8–11, and “Runway Road” near Halsey Field.
  • The start/finish will carry the Ellyson designation in honor of Naval Aviator No. 1, Commander Theodore Ellyson.
  • Friday, June 19 is a Navy Community Day with a Craftsman Truck Series race for base personnel and a limited number of Coronado residents, with public races June 20–21 for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and the Cup Series.
  • Ticket presales open Oct. 23 at NASCARSanDiego.com, with general public sales beginning Nov. 7; the weekend is presented by Anduril.
