NASCAR Unveils Electric Prototype in Push for Sustainable Racing

The organization aims for net-zero carbon emissions by 2035 with new EV initiatives and renewable energy plans.

NASCAR introduced a 1,000-kW electric vehicle prototype at the Chicago Street Race.
The prototype features three electric motors and a 78-kWh battery pack, designed with input from ABB, Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota.
NASCAR plans to decarbonize its operations, targeting 100% renewable electricity at facilities by 2028.
Despite the EV push, NASCAR will continue using combustion engines in its races for the foreseeable future.
