Overview

  • NASCAR found Hill in violation of sections 4.3.A and 4.4.B & D of its member conduct code, handing him a one-race Xfinity Series suspension and stripping his 21 playoff points.
  • Hill’s deliberate right-rear hook on Aric Almirola at Indianapolis earned him a five-lap in-race penalty and sent Almirola crashing into an unprotected section of the wall.
  • Richard Childress Racing declined to appeal the penalty and named Cup Series driver Austin Dillon to replace Hill in the No. 21 Chevrolet at Iowa Speedway.
  • Under NASCAR’s offseason rule change, Hill must secure a waiver to remain playoff-eligible and will be barred from earning points before the postseason.
  • NASCAR also suspended Kellen Mills and John Rosselli of LEGACY Motor Club’s No. 43 pit crew for two Cup Series events after a wheel-separation violation.
