NASCAR Relocates Street Race to Naval Base Coronado for June 2026

Scheduled for June 19–21, 2026, the event will mark NASCAR’s first competition on an active military installation in honor of the U.S. Navy’s 250th anniversary.

Overview

  • NASCAR confirmed a three-day street race at Naval Base Coronado for June 19–21, 2026, replacing the Grant Park event on the 2026 schedule
  • Amy Lupo, who helped launch the Coliseum and Chicago street races, has been named president of the San Diego event to oversee planning and execution
  • All three national series—Cup, Xfinity and Craftsman Truck—will race over the weekend as part of the Navy’s 250th anniversary celebration
  • NASCAR is partnering with the U.S. Navy and Sports San Diego to finalize a roughly three-mile course that will use base roadways and tarmac areas
