NASCAR Issues Severe Penalties to Jones and Legacy Motor Club for Illegal Car Modifications

Legacy Motor Club and driver Eric Jones were penalized $75,000 and 60 points in the standings for illegally modifying the greenhouse of Jones' No. 43 Chevrolet.
Crew chief Dave Elenz received a one-race suspension for the violation.
NASCAR has a zero tolerance policy for unapproved modifications to the spec Next Gen car.
Last week, NASCAR penalized Chase Briscoe and Stewart-Haas Racing for also illegally modifying their Next Gen car.
The penalties are the latest for teams caught pushing the strict rules on modifications for NASCAR's Next Gen car.
