NASA’s SpaceX Crew-10 Launches for ISS Crew Rotation
The mission facilitates the return of two astronauts who faced an extended stay on the ISS due to spacecraft issues.
- SpaceX's Falcon 9 launched the Crew-10 mission from Kennedy Space Center on March 14, carrying four astronauts to the ISS.
- The Crew Dragon spacecraft Endurance, previously used on three missions, was chosen due to delays with a new capsule's development.
- Crew-10 includes NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, JAXA's Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos' Kirill Peskov for a six-month mission.
- The mission enables the return of Crew-9, including NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who faced a prolonged ISS stay after issues with Boeing's Starliner spacecraft.
- The Crew-10 team will conduct scientific research, including spacecraft safety tests and studies on human adaptation to space for future missions.
