Overview
- Barcelona hosts the event for a third year at the 42 Barcelona campus, with support from the IEEC, the Catalan government and Fundación Telefónica, and organizers cite more than 6,000 registrants worldwide.
- Alicante’s Parque Científico de la Universidad de Alicante runs Oct. 3–5, is free to join for students of any degree, and features mentors from LynxView and Advanced Business Digitalization alongside organizers Multitec and El Nexo.
- NASA selected Mexicali as an official site for Oct. 4–5 at CETYS Universidad, drawing about 100 participants in 20 teams and securing backing from state and municipal authorities and the city’s tourism committee.
- Participants work in multidisciplinary teams using datasets from NASA and other space agencies to prototype solutions to Earth and space challenges over 48 hours.
- Local winners move on to the international round with the possibility of presenting at NASA facilities, as companies and research centers use the events to scout projects and talent across more than 150 cities.
