NASA's Artemis I Mission Celebrates One Year Anniversary

Artemis II, the next mission in the series, is currently under preparation, aiming to carry human astronauts around the moon.

NASA's Artemis I mission, which launched a year ago, was a historic success, with the Orion spacecraft completing a lunar journey and safely returning to Earth.
The Orion spacecraft completed two lunar flybys, coming as close as 80 miles from the lunar surface, and landed back on Earth on December 11, 2022.

Artemis II, the next mission in the series, is currently in the works and will carry human astronauts around the moon.
Artemis II's Space Launch System rocket, side boosters, Orion spacecraft and other key elements are under assembly in various parts of the United States.
