NASA Successfully Returns Historic Asteroid Samples to Earth

NASA spacecraft OSIRIS-REx successfully landed a capsule containing samples from the asteroid Bennu in the Utah desert on September 24, 2023.
The Bennu samples represent the largest sample return from an asteroid, with an estimated 250 grams of material.
Scientists will analyze the pristine asteroid samples to gain insights into the early solar system and the origins of life.
After releasing the sample capsule, the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft is now embarking on a mission to explore the asteroid Apophis.
The sample capsule was transported to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston for curation, with findings to be unveiled in a livestream on October 11.
