Overview
- The Jan. 8 spacewalk is slated to start at 8 a.m. EST with Mike Fincke and Zena Cardman exiting the Quest airlock for roughly six and a half hours to ready the 2A power channel for future roll-out solar arrays.
- Once installed on a future mission, the roll-out solar arrays will increase the station’s electrical output and contribute to systems needed for a planned controlled deorbit.
- The Jan. 15 spacewalk is scheduled to begin at 7:10 a.m. EST to replace a high-definition camera, install a planar reflector on Harmony’s forward port, and relocate an early ammonia servicer jumper and other jumpers on the S6 and S4 truss segments.
- NASA will announce the astronaut pair for the Jan. 15 outing after the completion of the Jan. 8 spacewalk.
- Live coverage begins at 6:30 a.m. EST on Jan. 8 and 5:40 a.m. EST on Jan. 15 on NASA+, Amazon Prime, and YouTube; the EVAs are U.S. spacewalks 94 and 95, the 278th and 279th in ISS support, and the first under Expedition 74, marking Cardman’s first EVA and Fincke’s 10th.
