NASA is seeking volunteers for a yearlong simulated Mars mission, CHAPEA 2, set to begin in spring 2025.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, aged 30-55, non-smokers, and proficient in English.
A master's degree in a STEM field and at least two years of professional STEM experience or a minimum of 1,000 hours piloting an aircraft are required.
The mission involves living and working inside a 1,700-square-foot, 3D-printed habitat at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, simulating Mars-like conditions.
The CHAPEA missions aim to gather scientific data to prepare for future human missions to Mars.
